Our interdisciplinary group brings together researchers from different fields, including biochemists, cell biologists, and microbiologists. The work ranges from stem-cell-derived tissue models and microfluidics to infection biology and immunology.
At the moment we have no position advertised. New openings appear on this page as soon as they arise, and since our projects start at different times through the year, it is worth looking in again now and then.
Positions open within our funded projects, in the natural sciences as well as in medicine, on topics that range from stem-cell-derived tissue models and infection biology to image analysis and multi-organ systems.
Experimental projects in which you learn cell culture, microfluidic tissue models, infection assays and quantitative microscopy. Topics are shaped together with you and fitted to the requirements of your programme.
We are glad to support researchers who want to develop an independent line of work with us, including applications for personal fellowships, which we help to prepare.
Colleagues from other institutions are welcome for short stays, for example to establish an organ-on-chip model for their own question. Several of our European projects provide a framework for this.
Even when nothing is advertised, we are happy to hear from students looking for a thesis project and from researchers who would like to apply for a fellowship with us. Write us a few sentences about what interests you and when you would be available, and we will tell you honestly what is possible at the time. Positions advertised formally by the institution are additionally listed in the job portal of Jena University Hospital.
